You can apply for both Full Membership of the club or a Sailpass Temporary membership by clicking the links at the bottom of this page.

Full Membership Application Forms can also be downloaded below and either handed in at the club, or scanned and emailed to cyc@outlook.com.au.

When you join Cleveland Yacht Club, part of your membership fee goes towards the club's affiliation with Australian Sailing (AS) which provides personal liability insurance.

Please note: All boats participating in sailing MUST HAVE INSURANCE (including a minimum $5m public liability and racing cover to participate in races).

MEMBERSHIP RIGHTS:

Adult Members are at least 19 years old as of 1st July before the start of the season and shall have full voting rights at all meetings of the Association subject to the relevant provisions of the Cleveland Yacht Club constitution

Honorary Life Members, as declared under the Constitution are entitled to all the privileges of the Association without payment of any subcription (other than any relevant Australian Sailing Membership fees if required) and have the same voting rights as an Adult Member

Adult Student Members are at least 19 years old as of 1st July before the start of the season and are full-time students at a school, college or university.  Such members have the same privileges and responsibilities as Adult Members

Junior Members are under 19 years old on 30th June before the start of the season and shall be entitled to all privileges of the Association except voting at meetings, nomination of candidates for any office, or holding any other office other than as designated representatives of the Management Committee

Paddler Members are prodominately non-sailing members that paddle craft including surfskis

Volunteer and Sailpass Members do not have any club voting rights or obligations

Associate / Social Memberships Please contact the club if you are considering applying for one of these non-sailing memberships.

MEMBER OBLIGATIONS:

Members are reminded that Cleveland Yacht Club relies on the commitment of members (and volunteers) to participate in race day duties as per club calendar, ramp cleaning, lawn mowing, working bees and canteen. In addition, the club has a Code of Conduct by which the members are expected to abide. A six-month probationary period applies to new members from date of payment, failure to abide by the CYC Code of Conduct and/or CYC Constitution will result in withdrawal of membership rights.

APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP:

If you have been a member of our club (or any Australian Sailing Affiliated club) across Australia in the past few years, your details (including Australian Sailing Number) should be in our system. If you don't know your Australian Sailing Number, you can look it up here: AS Number Finder.

Please use "New Member" if you do NOT already have an Australian Sailing Number.

Please use "Returning Member" if you HAVE an Australian Sailing Number.

This process is the same irrespective of whether you are taking a full or tempoary membership.

Please note: For Family Membership, please complete your first membership as "MEMBER Family", then repeat this process for each family member selecting "Additional Family Member Adult/Child".
