2011 Peel Island Marathon
The 2011 Peel Island Marathon was run on Sunday 1st May 2011. A beautiful sunny day to be on the bay. The light, shifting and fading breeze meant finishing the shortened course was indeed a marathon. A thankyou to all the competitors from the wide range of classes (18fters, A-Class, Nacra 430, Nacra 4.5, Sabre, Corsair, 505s, 49er, Tiapan, F16 etc) for supporting the event. History
In 1969 the inaugural Cleveland Catamaran Marathon was run. This has developed over the years into the current Peel Island Marathon which is sailed toward the end of the sailing season each year.
