The Preparatory Flag. At CYC the I flag is used as the preparatory signal. A boat over the line
during the minute before the start must sail to the pre-start side of the line around either
end before starting and keeping clear of all other boats not returning. |
 |
The Preparatory Flag. Some clubs use the P flag as the preparatory signal. The P flag allows
a competitor to return to the correct side of the line without going around the ends. A returning
boat must still keep clear of all other boats not returning. |
 |
The Shortened Course Flag. This will be displayed near a rounding mark and all boats must round
the mark and then proceed directly to the finish line. |
