Cleveland Yacht Club

Club house

Our club house is a two storey building with canteen, race control box and meeting area upstairs. Downstairs are the toilet and shower facilities and limited covered boat storage. The eastern end of club house has a shaded decked commanding a good view of the racing area and the Peel and North Stradbroke Islands.

Rigging area

Grassed rigging areas are provided at the western and eastern sides of the club house. During major regattas these areas can become crowded and arrangements with local landowners and council allow us to make use of additional space as required.

Boat Ramp

A shallow ramp ramp provides for launching under most tidal conditions. The ramp is suitable for launching off the beach craft including catamarans and dinghies, but is not launching with heavier towed boats and vehicles.

Boat Storage

Limited under cover boat storage is available for smaller craft under the clubhouse. This space is suitable for monohull vessels up 12 feet in length such as sabre, 125, impulse. For the convience of members some of the rigging lawn has been set aside for storage of larger craft including catamaran’s up 5.8m in length.

Upcoming Building Program

As much as funds and resources allow the club is constantly looking to upgrade facilities for the benefit of members. Whenever possible we seek grants to assist this process. In 2009 we hope to have the toilet and shower areas upgraded, and provide a concrete apron around the easten rigging area.
